Independent television from Holywood since 1988.
Brian Waddell spent 28 years at Ulster Television, 12 of them as Director of Programmes, before leaving in 1988 to set up Northern Ireland’s first independent production company.
Today Waddell Media is led by his daughter, Jannine Waddell MBE, who was awarded her MBE in 2018 for services to independent television production. The company has made well over 300 series, broadcast in more than 80 countries, and for more than 15 years has been Channel 4’s biggest supplier from Northern Ireland.
We make broad factual television: property and lifestyle formats, travel, gardening, history and documentaries, from our own studios and edit suites in Holywood, Co Down.
